NC24 temp gauge/rad fan

Post by BigDonk »

Is the radiator fan switch operated and linked in with the temp gauge?
or is the temp sensor on the rad prone to packing in, I noticed today that the temp gauge
was not working and wondered whether this also operates the fan?

Seperate.

The switch for the fan is on the LHS of the rad as you sit on the bike. Just one spade terminal hiding behind the chromed oil pipe from the top oil rad.

Not sure where the stat is for the temp gauge though, I've never had to find out. Neo could tell you for sure.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

cheers thunderace,

yep that was the easy one I cleaned the spade connector on that, I just wonder at what point does the fan come on and what actually switches it on, the the temp sensor or the gauge via the ignition switch (which is not connected as unfortunatley there are only 3 wires there red red/black an a brown) the wiring diagram I have being japanese is readable, just but not very clear so I cannot see the japanese charactors at all they are just a fuzz so I cannot even google to see what charactor/colours are.

plus it drives me bonkers taking the fairings off all the time to do anything when at this time of year I just want to ride the sucker as its a tad more fun than my suzuki teapot
