yamaha r6 reg rec on nc30
my cheap crap hong knog reg rec broke after 3 ride outs so ive ordered an r6 2005 reg rec can any1 get me any help with the wiring? will the thing plug straight in or do i have to wire it up and if so which wire goes where?

You will need to wire it up. Its a bodge job and is not recommended

Cut all the wires off and get some good quality insulated male / female spades, or if your feeling fancy you can get an original style connector.
I brought my replacment honda Reg / Rec from ElectrexWorld and it came with a new original connector and 12 months guarantee. (beefier with fins)
Pinouts should be fairly easy to get hold of but if your still having probs when it arrives leave another message and i'll see what I can dig up.

Just cut off the standard connector and solder on some female spade connectors, job done!
Nothing bodgy about it, it will outperform all honda units, and probably lots of aftermarket units.
I'll check tomorrow to see which colour wire goes where for you.

spot on guys the reg rec turned up yesterday so i'll be putting it on tomorrow or saturday and i'll post to let you know how i got on. thanks for the help guys i'll be over the moon when i fix this prob coz ive only passed my test 3 1/2 weeks ago and ive only been out on the vfr 4 times and the last time was a 5 hour wait for the r.a.c. guys and then the low loader because of the poxy ebay special reg rec i had!

on the R6 reg/rec,it's very common to hear someone is junking the old style units for some new yamahahahahaha (

no offence taken bud - i learnt a lesson that day dont buy the cheap crap and find out what others have done to get round problems because chances are someone else has done the same thing befor you.

many thanks for the pic got it wired up but i couldnt work out how to mount it so that it wasnt touching the inside of the fairing. going to have drill new holes i think but im a bit reluctant to start it without seeing what others have done
