Help fitting restrictors?
Just finished cleaning all the carbs, getting everything ready, got the new carb rubbers and clamps in the post. Great! Watched the 125's and moto2. Went out thinking the GP was at 2. Came in to ask a question and realised my day's got worse
Basicly, when the restrictor washers are in the carb rubbers, the rubbers wont seat onto the carbs, they'll fit on, do the clamps up and then just pull off... Have I been mugged off and sold the wrong washers or am I doing something wrong? I'm putting the restrictor between and the carb and the carb rubber?

Never fitted the restrictors, but have you tried putting them between the intake port and the carb rubber yet?

They fit inside the carb rubber.
There's a groove in the centre of the rubber, and the washer should fit onto that perfectly.

Re: Help fitting restrictors?
thanks for the replys, They were going in the groove but then not allowing the carb to seat properly. It's fine, I tried a smaller O/D washer in it and the carb seated fine, so I think I was sold the wrong restrictors
but I machined the O/D of the restrictors down so they'd allow the carbs to seat properly which worked. Now I've just got to get it on the dyno and hope it's done the job

I had this problem too but then fitted it between the rubbers and the intake port as skinny dog suggested and it worked perfectly.

ah, interesting. When I tried there was no chance of it fitting between the intake and rubber was far too big. Ah well, all done nowHadies wrote:I had this problem too but then fitted it between the rubbers and the intake port as skinny dog suggested and it worked perfectly.
