BT45's are an excellent choice. Avoid Avon Toadriders even if they are cheap, the misery is not worth the saving!Fuzzy139 wrote:Hi all, ok whats the best tyres for a 1992 Super four, WeMoto list the B45 s what are the tyres of choice foe everyone ?

If you ride more sportily you might like bt92's, these are radial and a bit grippier but last fewer miles. They will also tend to square off if you ride lots of motorways.

Re: Tyres, those round black things !
The last tyre I used on my nc31 was a bridgestone BT003 RS
It was amazing! Very sticky
downside is, they will not last for very long, I think it will do about 7000 km's at most.
They are a bit pricey, but they are so much fun!

I ride Pirelli Sport Demons. Haven't worn a pair out yet but they are sticky and real comfortable to ride.

I'm currently running a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2s. They are fantastic tires. Dual-compound technology gives them a harder center section (for less wear while commuting) as well as an incredibly sticky outer section for the twisties. By far the best tires I've owned to date.

^^ I've heard great things about these tyres...also being a radial tyre they should last longer than bias tyres. Just not sure if the over all costs are woth it. Would be great to find out if the cost per mile was in fact cheaper or on par with bias ply / single compound tyres.
A shame they don't make radials for smaller displacement bikes. You can get radials for 400cc bikes in Japan. Otherwise radial tyres are over designed (and more expensive than they need to be) for a 400cc bike.

You can get BT92's still, I think? They were pretty good back in the day, don't know how they'll compare to modern stuff.^^ I've heard great things about these tyres...also being a radial tyre they should last longer than bias tyres. I went a different route and fited a pair of nc29 wheels, then you can use a 160 rear tyre, which is handy as almost every brand does decent tyres in that size.

Pilot Road 2
I'm running the standard size for a '99. 120/60-17 up front and 160/60-17 in the rear. [As amorti already stated, the later models have the 5.5" rear wheel]
I'd say the Road 2s are definitely worth the money. I'm a hard rider in the twisties, and cheaper tires (i.e. Shinko) just don't do it for me. The turn-in on these Michelins is awesome. I have about 7k km on them now, and they still look pretty much brand new in the centers. The edges are starting to wear a bit, but nothing out of the ordinary.
