Fzr throttle cable woes
Has anyone ordered cable no12 and not got the 2 locking nuts on the carb side like me - just a plain cable end
http://www.seadoopartsnation.com/pages/ ... EBAR-CABLE
I believe from memory Fowlers told me this was the new cable for that number.....but what parts would I need to fix it to my carbs??
I got the part ages ago and just put an old one on..but that's gone as well now..soo just wondered if anyone has the real answer? lol

Taggy Cheers buddy I'm going to try and get a new one but may hold you in reserve if thats ok?
Rob from Abbey Motorcycles and breakers in Leicester has been amazing and come to my rescue!
Hi Barry, this is very complicated indeed. I think that they have just mislabelled the cables on the fiche - this cable doesn't even have the threaded bit to accept the nuts & yet is very clearly stamped 3EN-26312-00. Opening cables are always 26311 & are called "cable 1", closing cables are always 26312 & are called "cable 2". I am certain therefore that you actually need part number 3EN-26311-00 (or the superceded part no: 3EN-26311-01). However, it's even worse in the original FZR400R 3EN2 model part diagram (the model that the FZR600 borrows the cable from). Here they actually DRAW the cables incorrectly! In reality 3EN-26311-00 has a plastic adjuster at the throttle end with the nuts at the carb end & 3EN-26312-00 is a plain cable with no adjuster or nuts. In the 3EN fiche they incorrectly transpose the plastic throttle end adjust onto 3EN-26312-00! Perhaps this error was spotted & subsequent fiches had correct drawings of the cables but misnumbered them. No wonder you got the wrong cable!! However, just to recap, you need 3EN-26311-00 (or -01) which should have the adjuster & locking nuts (unfortunately I do not have one). Hope that clarifies things. Regards, Rob.
