how loud is 102 db

how loud is 102 db

hi guys just wondering if any one can give me any idea how loud 102db is , booked my first trackday this year (oulton park) but i put on a yanamoto half system with a carbon can (don,t know what make it is) and it seems quite loud not offensive just raspy . don't want turn up and not able to run. i have put a db killer in but does'nt seem to do much. help.........

Loud, my bike is 110 DB @ 8000RPM. (yamamoto & tyga can)

curts uber pikeys was about 88Db of the top of my head, ive found that the carbon cans tend to be a little quieter becuase a metal can tends to echo/vibrate it out more, and the carbon tends to absorb it as such, i could be talking complete bollocks but thats my opinion, as a rule a DB killer will work but they vary, which one do you have and how long is your end can?

the can is 400mm long and the db killer is out of a scorpion can on my gsxr750. :whistle:

You can get apps for phones now that measure decibels. Might be worth a try if you just want an idea of how loud it is

tried the apps and they a bit crappy , cheers anyhow, think i take my gsxr with me just in case.
