Hi, I have a 1wg with 600 engine and want to put a wider wheel than the 160/70zr17 thats currently on. I have an r6 swingarm knocking around the garage and fancied trying to get it to fit, has anybody tried this swap before? Is there another way of getting a bigger tyre on the 1wg???

Yep a FZR400 3tj swinger and wheel go on with a couple of bushes made. Very similar (if not identical cant remember) dimensions to the original arm and nice 17" wheel as well

I have said swing arm if you're interested! you'd need a wheel and caliper to go with it, but if hawksus doesn't want it you'd just need the caliper and mount!

Dont mean to sound ungrateful, but did you guys actually read my question??? I already have the swingarm! I already have a 17" wheel!
What I want is fit a wider wheel, like a 180 or 190!
Cheers anyway.
Any boy else?

big question then is why? it won't do anything for the handling and you'd probably have issues lining up the sprockets as the fzr isn't a wide motor the 17@ 160 is probably the best you'll get in there.

I agree with Taggy you don't have enough power to really use a 180 section and all you'll do is slow down the handling and acceleration. Even with the 160 on the 3TJ wheel you'll really need a 120 on a 3.5" front (again 3TJ / FZR600R / TRX850) for it to work properly.
Put a tape measure on the R6 swinger and measure it's length you don't want it to be much longer than the original.

its mainly a cosmetic thing, i wanted to put a more modern looking swingarm on coz the original looks cruddy, and think wider tyre would look better too.

looks are strange thing, to anybody who knows what they're looking at the tyre and swingarm will stand out as trying to hard. If you take looks over function you end up with a harley custom.
