first good blast this year

Post by Hogdigerdy Dog »

me and her indoors went out doors for a couple of days down to devon

left sunday morning about 9 and made it down to dawlish warren by 10 30, (where a mate was on holiday with his family in a huge caravan) the free holidays are the best.

an excellent run, with hardly any traffic, beautiful sunny morning, a bit chilly, but once you get a bit of a wriggle on you don't notice it, i'd bought a lidl magnetic tank bag, (money well spent their excellent) got enough gear in it for the both of us for 3 days except the light bulky items like trainers and jumpers so they went in a small back-pack which the missus wore, didn't want it being to heavy, i was hoping she'd still be on the back when i got there.

came back yesterday afternoon and because of the traffic it took just over 2 hrs but it wasn't a chore we thoroughly enjoyed the ride and hopefully the first of many this year

How does find it on the back - mine's legs go funny and she can't walk quickly after a longer run. We got the pillion pad revamped with extra foam and a silicon pad

mrs hd doesn't mind it but then she has some built in padding

having said that it is gonna need re-covering at some point so i'll have it padded out a bit, maybe a gel pad or something, as i don't want to loose the shape by having a big thick rear seat.

TBH by the time we got there my arse was well numb, the only thing that kept me going was knowing we didn't have much further to go, but i'll get used to it again, end of last year when riding the only breaks we had was to fill up with fuel

You should have a chat with porndoguk, he's got first hand experience of these things ;)

Oh, did you mean the seat?

LMAO
i did see the Mrs porndoguk thread, and very impressive attributes they become
but the wife (apart from being jealous) seems to think they'd be uncomfortable to sit on for long journeys
