NC21 Center Stand Bracket

Post by cvt » Sat Apr 30, 2011 6:57 pm

Hey Guy's,

Was NOT going to ask this, but here goes anyway.

I have a VFR400K. I've just stripped the whole thing apart and getting it all together again. All's good apart from ONE thing. The center stand. I was unable to remove it in the first place. The right hand side of the pivot bolt seems to detach from the main shaft, but I was unable to get it to budge. Any ideas?

The reason I post is this.......

Embarrassingly enough, I can for the life of me not remember how the center stand spring attaches to the frame. I have the bracket (I think), but not sure ho it attaches to the chassis. I mean really, of all the things!!!

And yes, I know there's a hole for one bolt that I assume holds the bracket, but still, which way round does the bracket go. What would be really great is if an owner of any of the nc21 models could take a quick pic of the bracket fitted to the chassis and upload. Couldn't find one anywhere!

So many thanks and really to ask for something this stupid.

The 400k is an ex motorcycle training school bike and the only one that comes with a centre stand.

I might have the microfiche for it somewhere, ill have a look and see what i can dig out

I did pm you as I also have a vfr400k but I do not have the facility to put pictures on here. You are welcome to pop round though..The bracket is basically a simple right angle bolted to the back of the right hand side of the main frame just behind the rear brake lever. The other part of the right angle points forwards on the outside of the main alloy frame and the spring attatches at that place.I hope this is helpful.

Hey, thanks you so much for your trouble. It seems I was right the first time. The only thing that made me doubt my conclusion was that the bracket seems to attach with only a single bolt, but that just seems to be the way it is.

Thanks again :peace:
