NC29 Lock set
I want to change the lock set on my NC29, tank, ignition and rear seat, as the previous owner had a different key to the fuel tank. Does the NC23 model share the same locks please?

Cosy

Re: NC29 Lock set
Not sure on the nc23 fitment, especially for the rear seat but you can buy a Chinese replacement for the NC29, some include the rear seat lock. Although Im not sure if these would fit the R model as the wiring might be different, So if you have this particular model check first.

Re: NC29 Lock set
Some places say NC23 and NC29 lock set are compatible, others are unsure.

Re: NC29 Lock set
After doing a whole lot of other work to the bike, I forgot about doing the lock set.
Cannot find anything other than the below for a full lock set.
Are any other models compatible perhaps?
Any comments would be appreciated.

Would be a shame to pay full whack for a honda item.

An aftermarket part?

Re: NC29 Lock set
I bought a lock set from ebay for the NC29 from china?
Guess what - they were for the NC23 ( or maybe another honda type bike )
Managed to rewire the ignition barrel - this was quite easy. They are the same fitment just the plugs were wrong so used my old wiring.
The fuel cap fits fine. Mine actually sits a bit proud of the tank as the prev owner levered it open with a screwdriver so has bent the inner ring of the tank.
The rear lock was totally wrong - flipped the bar over and got my angle grinder out and managed to get it to fit. Took a bit of hassle and grinding but works a treat now.
I complained and he refunded my £35 - bargain.

Re: NC29 Lock set
Do the photo's give an idea for the fitment of the rear seat?
I hear the same comments as you regarding the ignition and fuel cap, it's the rear seat thats the issue.
Thank you for your comments.

Re: NC29 Lock set
To be honest I cant remember - it was advertised for the NC29 and some other NC's but not the NC23.
With hindsight the picture of the cables on the igniton switch should have given the game away - but I couldnt be bothered to check my bike.
The fuel cap is a bit cheap metal feel - compared with the original.
With regards to the rear lock.
The bar that sticks out of the bottom end of the lock that turns when the key is turned was miles from where it should have been. This bar activates a lever that pops the seat up.
I took the bar off and fliped it over so it was facing the other way.
The hole when it connected to the barrel is keyed so can only go on two ways.
It was still wasnt right but at least it was now next to the lever. It was jamming up against the lever when I turned the key.
So I bent the lever in the back of the bike out a bit - say 10mm towards the tank. Was half working now - but still jamming mid way.
Then using an angle grinder cut a wedge out of the top of the bar on the end of the barrel.
I just kept trying - then cutting - trying etc.
Works fine now. Better than £100+ I have seen on ebay.
And you can make it fit so why not have a go?

Re: NC29 Lock set
Thank you for the words of wisdom, sorry you had the ordeal, sounds like I may have the same issue upon me soon.
Still at least the bike will have matching locks throughout. Bit of a bug bearer having one for ignition then another for both fuel cap and rear seat.

Re: NC29 Lock set
Managed to get a great find. Full manufacturer lock set for an NC29, all fitted, no problems and very happy with just the one key that fits all.
