NC24 Front Caliper Upgrade (Suggestions Please)

Post by Neosophist »

Now that i've finally got my NC24 running properly I will be taking it to some trackdays shortly, the standard brakes are alright for day to day use but I can imagine they'll be rubbish on the track, with heavy street use they fade quickly and dont' have any realy grunt.

There seems to be pleanty of stuff open for the NC30, which uses fixed calipers yea? Well the 24 uses good ol floating calipers!

Anyone upgraded their brakes or know of any mods!

Many thanks.

Do you have steel lines fitted? that will improve them if you don't already.
I don't know about which calipers will fit though would be interested to hear if anyone had any suggestions. But i think a radial master cylinder would greatly improve the brakes!

uprated brake pads, uprated disc (if you can get them), braided brake lines, larger capacity master cylinder i.e r6 or radial type, DOT5.1 brake fluid.

plenty of options for ya. not sure what pads and disc's are available for the nc24, but im sure you nc24 owners know where to get the parts from.

I'll try some braided lines / HH pads first then, was my original plan if something else didn't just bolt on :)

Thanks.. However,

I think they might be the same calipers? Anyway.. for the 24 I rebuilt the calipers, new seals, sliders and red grease.. used some braided lines and Nissin TT2501HH pads (RC30 I believe?) with Motul brake fluid and there awesome for what they are.

Pads are some of the best i've ever used.. pricey tho... £76 for 4 (45105MR7612)

Got them free from one of my friends. :)

I had steel brake lines on my NC24 and HH pads.I thought the brakes excellent.I beleive that you can get Billet 6 -piston calipers but they would be pricey.
