Vinyl 3m matte black tank and fairings

Post by phattfoniks »

Hi,
was thinking off doing some vinyl matte black cover on petrol tank and fairings.
I've got the fairings off at the moment so I'd do it piece by piece. Nice and slow

Anyone tried this and is it hard to do? im prob gonna have to buy a new nosecone cause mine has a few cracks in it and its been plastic welded once but its starting to crack again :(

So im thinking new nosecone and instead of paint, Ill just matte black vinyl wrap each panel. Maybe but a gold/silver V4 sticker on it and thats it.

Recomendations or experiences with this stuff?

Thanks 8-)
(im thinking 3m as everything ive read thus far says its the best stuff)

Take a look at 'carbon mods' web site, they have bonnets covered in it in the workshop. They either do it or their sister company does it, looks quite nice and they are super helpful guys so well worth a phone call or email.
