Clutch issues
Ive stripped the clutch out of my NC30 engine due it slipping quite badly when upshifting whilst riding hard. Its fine when riding normally although occasionally slips when just accelerating hard.
All the plates are within there wear limits but the metal plates are lightly burn coloured in places, they will easily clean up with some scotch brite pads but is this going to work? i cant be arsed to put it all back together only to find its still slipping.
I use to have to do this quite regular on my old ducati but that was a race spec dry clutch and a different kettle fish completely. Can wet clutches be rescued or am i wasting my time?

I take it there's the usual number of clutch springs in there and fully synth hasn't been used at some pointTony?

6 springs and the engine came to me dry so ive no idea if fully synth has been used, ive only put semi in there.
Will the fully synth contaminate the plates permenatly then?

There are old wives tales about it doing so but how much of that is true I don't know. I think all you can do is clean the plates, put it all back together again and see how it goes. If that doesn't work then I guess it's new friction plates time
Do clutch springs get weaker over time?

I guess so, 40k of constant use has gota weaken them a bit surely.
I'll clean them all up and see how it is, it can only be better.

FWIW, I have always found that once a wet clutch starts to slip, best bet is new clutch plates and cable rather than fucking around trying to rescue them...

Nope definatly 6 springs in there. Well i cleaned all the plates up and double checked the thinckness and there all well within the limits but the bitch is still slipping occasionally. New clutch time then

New clutch springs? Cured my slipping issue when riding it hard. The burn on the plates it probably a combo if slipping and assembling it dry

I was under the impression 3 diaphragm springs was OEM too?
