NC30 finished, a few errors

so what if decals not 100% correct still looks good . unless it was going to be put in a museum and never ridden then maybe that would be an issue .

were the mids painted too ? something i have noticed on 99% of painted bikes, the lines don't line up and the angles go a bit wrong.
you look at a OE paint one, and the champagne stripe is hardly noticeable, and the line is straight with the seat line, painted ones are always deep gold and i wonder if that's what makes the lines stand out. bit of a visual mind trick.

I did not touch mid panels or seat and I think they are correct original as follows.
The decal has a thin red and blue line next to the gold.
The left side stripes line up the right side do not.
The stripes both measure the same distance as do the seat halves.
The light gold stripe colour looks correct as seat, tank and mid panels match, and looks original on the seat as it is applied to the white paint, the red painted in after, up to the stripe.

The brochure shows this misalignment, and look at your photobucket shot of right side.
I knew someone would spot something I could not see, :-)

very nice. who did the paintjob?

I only had forks, top cowl and belly pan done.
He repaired and reformed lugs, fixed cracks and filled wrong contours previously repaired.
He finished inside nose cone black satin.
Although not correct, [paint should be gloss coat finish] I asked for fairing and decals to be laquered over to seal the edges and give a good finish.
Once the bike is painted it is no longer original, so I opted for the best finish.

A friend recommended him and although he is in London, he visits near me regularly. [Farnborough Hants]

He does a lot of race paint [and races] I only know him as Rob 07770 951842.

The mid panel rear/ bellpan fixing top bracket was bent up, lifting the rear of the faring a few mil.
I reset it and the alignment is a bit better

Is the gold stripe paint or vinyl,
the bike looks nice.

All of the gold stripe is vinyl, seperate on belly pan and seat unit, but is a part of the white mid panel decals, nose cone blue decal and blue tank decal.

Yes, it's 3 years since I spoke to you about Lee's original bike.
I have been looking on and off since, this one was in Ludlow, originally from Chester.
An old chap [like me] owned it for the last 14 years, and was not messed around with, the 14,000 m looks correct.
I spent some time over the winter pulling it apart for cleaning and checking, but it was not too bad, although the bodywork was worse than I thought, damaged, repaired, painted, damaged again .
It rides well, very smooth and pulls cleanly to 13,000rpm in the gears [not tried it flat out yet].

Been out with the NC30 from Hell tonight, that still shifts for a 76,000 miler, and the motor is beautifully quiet too.

What next though, I did not get on with the 996SPS, but do favour V twins and fours.
What would sit nicely along side NC35, UK NC30, RC30 standard, RC30 modified.
I prefer the early NC35 colours, so if a good one came along I would replace my '98 one.
