Advanced Ignitech features, TPS and quickshifter

So who's been playing with theirs then? From what i can make out all you need to make a quickshifter is a switch which detects movement of the gear rod and cuts ignition for a split second. Being a electrical numbnut ive no clue what kind of switch would work in this situation, any ideas elecy bods?

Then theres the 3D TPS mapping, anyone tried this? or could anyone explain the fundimentals of how TPS mapping works so i can atleast understand what will happen when i make adjustments to it. I understand the basics of it, ie. different amounts of advance at certain throttle positions also dependant on RPM but for example if at 7k rpm @ full throttle it needs +4 advance will it need more or less at half throttle?

And yes i do have a TPS sensor before someone tells me i need one first

I'm still pretty virginal with my ignitech, but have been looking at the gear change indicator, as i notice the perfect cable to use would be the orange and blue one seeing as it is no longer used,

as for the quick shift etc i would imagine somethin similar like the front brake switch mounted on a bracket youll need a you want the switch to be pressed when the gear lever is in its normal position but unsure on which way the electronics would work, wether it would need to be normally open or closed, i would say normally open so when you hit the gear lever the switch closes and then kills ignition,

as for the throttle posisition sensor where did yo get one? i want one

The only one known to fit, a cheapo CBR one wont work im afraid.

Hi DM,
I have never looked into this, but i would think you need a 2 way switch, for up and down shifts. If the switch only operates one way like a brakelight switch it will only sence up shifts or down shifts depending how you have it set.
Does that make sense?

Jeff, yes that makes perfect sense, is it really that easy tho? Seems to cheap to be true

Im not bothered about down shifts so much but if fitting a 2 way switch is just as easy then may aswell.

I think i was a little ahead of myself. You would need a throttle blip for clutchless downshifts. I will ask the electrical engineers in work for some switches that could be used, i am sure there are shit loads. I guess that a one way pressure switch would be fine.

I always thought that a quickshifter worked on the basis of being both mechanical and electronic.

By which I mean - there's a microswitch that senses the small movement in your foot as you touch the gear shift, this in turn interrupts the ignition and at the same time activates the electric solenoid that mechanically pulls the gear rod and changes the gear.

The solenoid/switch is usually in the middle of the shift rod and replace the OE part.

If you interrupt the ignition but still have to manually shift gears then wouldn't you run the risk of that not happening while the the ignition was cut?
