Washers under the needles
Hi,
I was just going to put some washers under the needles on my nc30 but there are already some in there, should they be there as standard or has this mod already been done? I hope there not standard as it will save me taking the rest of the carbs to bits!
Many thanks
Ian

Re: Washers under the needles
I am sure that the NC-30 is the same as the NC-35. Standard shims are .5mm. So you can either add an additional .5mm shim for a total of 1mm, OR remove the standard .5mm shim and add a 1mm shim instead.

I did not even have washers on my nc30 needles for some strange reason.

Re: Washers under the needles
where is the best place to get these washers?
I had some of the 0.5mm ones fitted when I got the bike.
Now I've fitted a yamamoto system it seems to bog down in the mid range slightly - will 1mm's worth of washers help?
Or is it a case for new jets and needles?!!
Cheers

Not sure about a full system, the 1mm total shim is what seems recommended for a race can only with no air box changes.
Best place to get them is Mr. Rick Oliver.
