NC30 Misfire when hot

Post by JORDAN8710 » Wed Mar 16, 2011 4:15 pm

Hi. I am new to the sight and am in need of some help please.
I have a 1991 nc30 which ive had for almost a year nearly a year now, and ive never really had any problems with it until now. when i start her up she runs fine when cold, but when heated up a wee bit she starts misfiring up until about 5k under load. As she gets hotter misfiring continues through the whole rev range and has backfired a couple times. If i snap back the throttle when stationary it almost dies and is really hesitant. Ive checked the rear coil pack and plugs but all seems fine.
Does anyone know of any pointers before I take off the fairings and tank to do other checks? thanks

similar symtoms to a duff plug i had too. if the plugs are knocking on a bit try those first, a tired plug or shorting plug will give the coils some work to do.

You might be right to replace the coil packs but I had a simular problem where the spark was evident and looked strong but in the bike it just wasn't enough due to it shorting. Even though it's expensive it would be worth changing both.
I saw it so I took it!
