NC30 front sprocket cover problem

Post by Francois » Wed Mar 09, 2011 7:40 am

Hi

So my chain came off on my VFR400 NC30 and it broke the front sprocket cover off it looks like the gearbox (if im correct) is the part where the cover mounts on to. This also got damaged and the bolts bent a bit. My Clutch immedately got a huge ammount of slack and the chain is missing. i can get a chain but dont know what to do with the rest?? any suggestions of what went wrong? Sorry for the spelling im Afrikaans.

Your chain proably was too slack and on doing down the gearbox the chain jumped and smashed up the front clutch cover. I know because it almost happened to me on Saturday because my chain adjuster pinch bolt was faulty.

Yours sounds is damaged enough that you will need a new sprocket cover. The clutch is slack because the front sprocket cover alos houses part of the clutch push rod and its probably cracked it.

Howdo Boer! 8-)

there are a few Saffa people on here that have the afrikaans..your englis is miles better than some of the dickheads on here too!!

You need a sprocket cover mate - can be had second hand for cheap, from over here too if required. POstage is probably harsh though.

Put a wanted ad in the for sale section and I am sure you'll find one.

Hi

Thanks for the info.
I have the sprocket cover it was holding with one bolt. The other two bolts are also still there but it broke out of were it was holding on to. That is the problem :?
It looks like the engin comes together were the sprocket cover broke off.
What do you think is it fixable?

Thanx BOERTJIE
