Ah ha! I see....

I will check the idle first, then defo check the jets. I am at work at the moment, but will do it when im home in a few hours. Will a Haynes manual show how to get the carbs off?? I recall they are under the tank??

You guys have been really helpful, thanks

Porndoguk - yes I have the Tyga Maggot. Trust me when I say it is ridiculously loud...... Earplugs are a must!!

I will adjust the idle, It kinda makes sense you guys saying that, my boyfriend took the bike for a spin when I got it back and decided to fiddle about with the idle....... But he always knows best!! ;)

Not sure what they did to the jets, I do know he said he copied off another nc30 with a race can fitted......

To be honest the mechanic was a bit of a twat, not entirely convinced he knew what he was talking about. And my freshly resprayed tank came back with a chip in it...... :x

Anyway, I will get her out later and adjust the idle if need be. Will let you know if it solves the problem.

i wear ear plugs and mine is loud,

just haveing a Can doesnt make a great deal of difference in comparrisson to a full tyga system as the pipes are slightly larger and have better bends etc so the gasses will flow better so the bike would need to be jetted to suit,

but as i said 118F 120R would be ideal for a full tyga. i would recomend a K&N apanel it will help the mixture as it will run slightly richer.

the jets are where the FUEL is sucked into the Venturi to be mixed with the air, then into the engine.
the bigger the jet the more fuel will be sucked though as the needle is drawn up by the vaccum created. its a complicated science ill leave it at that :?

Hmm, tricky on the jetting front then

id say 115f 118r for a normal slipon can,
but its a maggot so you may get on with 118f 120r cammo is the best to ask,

and the only other way to find out is on the dyno and get an air fuel mix test

Shereen.

I wouldn't start playing with the carb set up yet. You need to rectify one problem at a time. Warm the bike up as discussed and see what it idles at warm with the choke off. Set it at 1800-1900 to avoid it cutting out. Then give it a run stopping lots and letting it idle.

If it runs crap and still cuts out ring the mechanic and just ask him what settings he has adjusted the carbs to and what jets he has used. It's no shame in clarifying what he has done.

If he can't remember then we need to get the carbs off as he is a numpty! If he gives you some figures write them down and post them up here so we can see what's going on.

I warmed bike up took her for a blast for 15-20 mins then went to adjust the idle, it was idling at about 1100rpm, so i turn the thingy a few times and it goes up to 1500rpm, open and shut throttle a few times, and its still sitting at 1500rpm, i turn it more but the it wont go any higher than 1500rpm. Took her for another 10 minute blast, still wont go over 1500rpm.

Just phoned the mechanic and ask him what settings he adjusted the carbs to and he said and I quote "you dont really adjust the jets, they just fit into the carbs, Iv adjusted the air screws, I think on your bike I done it 2 turns from all the way"

Iv just callled the company where I got the jets from and he said off the top of his head he thinks 120 front 122 rear. Hes going to find out for sure and let me know but he is pretty sure they are the sizes.

Im well confused now :?
What does every think?

So after adjusting the idle screw did it stall? What did it ride like? was it smooth through the rev range. If it's riding nice and it wasnt stalling, I say just use it for a bit and enjoy it. I think you might be getting bogged down that it has a fault. The maggot is going to be rough its basically just a flared tube!! If it is unrideable or theres a problem you can't live with after trying it then you need to investigate it.

My personal advice is.

Swap the maggot for a nice tailpipe and re-jet 118 jets all-round.
