29 Swingarm question...

Post by tanuki » Tue Mar 08, 2011 12:42 pm

Are the bearings for the swingarm located in the swingarm or in the frame, or are there bearings in both the swingarm and frame.

(like for instance the rear wheel i.e a bearing in each side of the wheel and one in the sprocket carrier)

There is a needle bearing roller on the chain side, and two ball bearings on the brake side. These are in the swingarm, it's a pretty straightforward, standard arrangement.

The chain side butts against the frame, this ensures correct chain alignment. The brake side has a screw-in spacers which aligns everything into the frame.

I have most of the measurements to hand if it helps.
