Tried to start her this morning.

She went to fire with no choke on (i.e she ran for about 1/2 a second), i then put the choke on and she took about 15 times of cranking to finally fire up (was leaving it about 10 - 20 seconds between tries so as not to flood the engine)

I was seeing if she would start with no choke just as a test.

Anyway its about 3 degrees outside and maybe 5 or 6 degrees in our garage and i put the choke full on, stried to start her.

She wouldnt start, after about 20 firings and turning the idle screw all the way in, she finally fired up and then adjusting the idle screw back out she ran on choke at 5000-6000rpm and off the choke at about 1500 rpm *but still cold*

I could try and do a video of the problem if it would help any more

I've kinda got a similar problem (In the process of getting an NC30 back to roadworth condition)

The bike would not start on the choke, so i gradually educed the amount of choke, and when there was barely any it started and was running at about 2k rpm. when i tried to apply the choke to stabalise it the engine started to die on me.

any ideas?

(PS: What should the idle speed be as i have set it at 2000rpm on the adjuster?)
Why when I take something apart and rebuild it; Why do I have so many spare nuts and bolts?

I think i have found the problem

the choke does not operate fully, if i pull one of the silders further across then it will start.
