NC23 idle/rev issues

Post by DK-Tandy » Sun Mar 06, 2011 2:32 pm

when my bike starts (when it can be bothered), i apply full choke and no throttle.. the choke keeps it ticking over, still its kind of warmed up when i can drop the choke a bit. but when i go to rev it, it de-revs instead of revs. From my knowledge that is caused from too much fuel as if i pull the throttle back slowly, the revs increase..
is this caused by wrong fuel / air mixture or something else?

once the choke is completely off, the bike dies. unfortunatley i cant ride it as i have no chain or sprockets as they will be purchased within the next couple of weeks.

could any shine some light on the situation to why it dies when revved (what steps i need to do to fix the problem)

thanks guys

Is it running on all 4 cylinders? when its started, lick your finger (wont burn so much!) and touch the downpipes, see if they are all hot

ive just found out its only running on 3 cylinders..
as you sit on the bike. right left to right
C1 C2 C3 C3
its cylinder 3 that isnt working, ive dabbed wet sponges on C1,2 and 4 and they all sizzle whereas header 3 is nothing..

any steps i can check out to try and get my cylinder running

You donut! Was that also the cause of the rev issue?
