Ugh... Carb Help 35 RO kit

When I got the bike the jetting was terribly off so I opened her up I found B needles, HRC emulsion tubes, 120 front jets with a 115 rear. Tall front stack and a HRC rear short stack. HRC springs, Stock pilot jets and a carbon tray with a OEM filter and mixture screws 2 1/2 turns out. And a RB half system double stack making it the loudest bike on earth.

I've since changed the jetting To the air filter no filter material with just the screen, B needle with clip in the middle with a washer, HRC tubes with 145/142 jets, mix screws at 1.5 out, and removed the tray. Haven't had a chance to put it on the dyno but am trying to get it a little closer before I bring it. Now my question is, it seems pretty close to being right by checking the plugs, but two weird things are occurring. No. 1, once fully warm and coming to a stop it hangs at 4k before dropping back down to 1,500 , and when letting off the throttle while cruising on the hwy and let off the throttle no matter how slight it bogs down then stutters and picks back up. Strange because while on the throttle it pulls cleanly.

That's usually a sign that the pilot screws are not set quite right. My nc30 hrc carbs do the same, I don't worry about because it doesn't affect performance on the track. It helped when I increased the idle to 2500 rpm, also fuelled better from low-mid transition. The hrc manuals don't recommend an idle speed?

Try setting the needles to the 2nd clip (from the bottom), 1 washer on rear carbs only. Might help, might not, this is the starting point recommended in the hrc manual.

You might not be able to sort these glitches out, but both of your problems won't be an issue on the track where this setup was intended to be used.

Either that or if you cant get it right it sounds like you may have an air-leak (carbs not sealing on the rubbers / split rubbers)

Spraying something flammable like easy start around the rubbers will pick up an air-leak as the rpms will change when it sucks the easy-start into the engine.

Yeah at first I thought it may be an exhaust leak from the boots not seating properly but they are. And Cammo that was the advice my friend suggested. He said 40 pilot jets. But I dont have a HRC manual. And this is a road/ every once in a while race bike. The 29 is the full time one. This is moreof a backup

You could try 40 pilot jets, but you'll need to lean up the mid (with needle settings) and top end (smaller main jets) to compensate.

I use larger pilot jets in my nc30 hrc carb setup. Larger pilots weren't offered as part of the nc35 kit, so you probably shouldn't need them, but I reckon they will help the rideability.

Yeah I figured I would have to but right now it's just annoying on the street and surely not raceable. But I'll let ya know how it turns out. Thanks for the info

But I'm not so much worried about the hanging idle but the on/off throttle thing is bugging the hell out of me.
