Haha, I've gone and bloody well done it! With a low beam AND a high beam relay!
I ended up running a wire from the low beam relay (which is under the left hand fairing) to the lights, rather than going through the loom. I've got it all working at the mo with the OLD switchgear with wires everywhere. Going to now rig it up to the new switchgear with a bit more precision (and a lot of electrical tape). Secure the relays to the frame (more tape). Give her a wipe down and put the fairings back on.
Five days ago I didn't even understand earth, live or what a diode was. Now I've just rewired the front end of the lighting system and fitted two relays! Couldn't of done it without 400gb, especially a big thank you to Rick!
Skint right now, but when I get paid next month I'll definitely become a forum supporter :)

It's all yours if you can help me solve my last dilemma 
I've wired it all up how I think it should work but it's behaving a little odd.
If I enable dipped, all is well. If I pull in the passing switch, only the right bulb lights up (left goes out). If I enable high beams on the button then the right bulb lights up to high beam, the left gets a bit dimmer but barely stays on. If I swap the bulbs round it still happens. Could I have wired something up wrong? Highs were fine until the low beam relay went in and I wired it all up.
I've put the battery on charge, but it's the same after 10-15 mins of charge (giving it longer now).
Edit: Or is it supposed to be like this, one full, one not - as some bikes are? Was the both lights being full beam just part of the original bodge?

Done. Solved. Sorted.
Took her out for a much needed spin, all seems fine :D Was just an earth not having a good enough connection, put new cable in.
Now I just need to sort the carb balance and clutch out and she's a good 'en
