Yes pretty much, and when the bike pulls away from idle. It won't do any harm adjusting pilot screws, but I don't think it's responsible for your issue.

How many washers have you got under the carb needles? You can take one of the rear carb slide covers off without removing the carbs, worth a check if you can't remember.

Try 1 0.5mm washer (this is standard) and see how it runs, or if it has only 1 washer try an extra washer.

Hard to tell whether it's running lean or rich over the net! ;)

right, gut feeling was wrong! there was two on each needle. i have now changed this back to one on each and there has been a drastic improvement ( still running with 2 & 1/4 turns on pilot jets ). she stutters at about 6k but i would not call it 'bogging down' it is more just like there is a flat spot in the rev range now.

would size of race can make a huge difference? the laser can on there is:

i could try her with one washer & 2 1/2 turns on pilot to see what result i get from that. i have just ran out of time today. i think until i get her mot'd and fully legal i think i will just live with it until i can take her out on a proper run.

i was messing about with my phone as well earlier and shot a video of her ticking over, she was warm as i had returned from my quick round the block about 15 mins earlier, but had started to cool down ( if that makes sense ) she was hunting for idle a bit - which she did not do before i removed the extra washers under the needle.

does this give anymore idea about how shes running?

where would you say 6k was on the throttle responce?? say....1/4 throttle? 1/2 throttle?

i do own a vfr but havnt got a full licence yet, so never rode it.

adjusting your pilot wont really/shounldnt do much pal. if youv got a more free flow race pipe it certainly dosnt hurt to turn the pilot out a bit more just to allow a bit more air pass through her.

do the carbs have an idel adjustment on them on these bikes?? to make the progression between the pilot circet and say 1/4 throttle smooth!?

removing one of the washers has basicaly leaned the mid range out slightly (if thats where 6k sit on the bike, that y i need to know), so if its better then you know you were a little rich there befor.

i just need to know more about the carb adjustments really befor i could help anymore. if there s a slide adjustment (idel screw) on the carbs this would make it easier to make the progrssion from 0-1/4 throttle easier.....
