Fitting a CBR600 rear shock to an NC30

I've measured a 2008 R6 shock up today and the eyelets are 292mm apart. Could this be compensated with adjustment to the dogbone, and if so how far would the hole in the dogbone have to be repositioned?

Id be more tempted to try a 10mm spacer to raise the height first which will give you 302mm which is close enougn the NC lengh. Playing with the linkage lengh will alter the ratio which is great if you know what your doing, not so great if you dont.

I'm going admit to being a bit thick here, but where does the spacer fit?

Just realised you have a 30, i dont think you can fit a spacer to the 30 like you can the 35. I think re drilling the suspension arm to make up for the shorter shock will be too extreme and cause clearence issues. Thats just my educated guess tho from what little i do know which isnt a lot

Yes i've got a 30 fella. If its going be a pain to fit the R6 shock i think the only option is the CBR600 one then.

I think the CBR RR shocks are better suited but you will have to run a smaller battery or cut a bit out from the underside of your seat.
K6/7 600 and 750 GSXR's fit better and you can use a standard battery, again these need a 800lb + spring. There also IMO a better shock with seperate high/low compression damping. They also fit with minimal mods although id have to dig out the info on them as its a while since i did it.

I'm going to be doing this very soon, ordered the shock today. Is 550lbs really too light?

On that link with all the spring rates on it said ideal rider weight around 90kg, I'm 80 on a good day (no pies).

It is too light for an nc30, the lower link ratios are different so it changes the shock action (and necessary spring rate) significantly.

Ah makes sense! So 800 lbs then. Is it 2.25ID?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the spring on the cbr shock? I'm used to threaded shocks but this is LNG so obvious
