Float bowl gaskets

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know what kind of glue or other material can i use to hold in place the float bowl gaskets?
I already tried honda liquid gasket but....petrol melted it like butter.

I guess this means that i cannot use any kind of silicone based materials or glues....
Any ideas? or have you tried anything that works?

Try hylomar blue as its petrol resistant

Or speak to Rick-o for cheap replacement :)

that blue stuff isnt the best.. it:s petrol resistant but i dont know if its designed to be submerged in petrol all the while, the rick-o gaskets probably cheaper too

The gaskets that i have are new, what i need is a glue that can hold the gaskets in place, without the risk of either damaging the gaskets or glue running in the jets.

I sometimes use small dabs of gasket goo to hold them in place too. It does help with Rick O's gaskets sometimes as they're not formed in the shape of the bowl. Small price to pay for such cheap gaskets though!

Get the petrol resistant goo recommended above, you can apply it so that there's very little chance of any goo being inside the float chamber area if you're careful (wipe it way once semi set etc).

NC30 or NC35. If nc30 just buy new orings off rick Oliver around £5 and hold them in with grease when assembling. if NC 35 use Hylomar.

I dont use anything to hold them im, you could use silicon if your careful, just avoid it going into the float bowl and clogging the jet.

A small dab of grease like px7 will secure the seals to the float bowls, don't use grafite grease though
