2006 model shocks are the ones you want, they have a slightly smaller res. You just need to shim the top mount with 2 washers and thats it.
£60 for one, £30 for a new spring and £80 for a service = £170 for a freshly serviced, re-sprung fully adjustable shock.

Re: undertray + alloy subframe?
will a cbr900rr shock fit the same as a 600? I've seen one on fleabay, and did a bit of research and apparently they have a 850lb spring as standard, if this is true then would it need revalving?

No the mounting points are wrong, you'd probably get away without revalving a standard shock for a 800lb spring

Re: undertray + alloy subframe?
cheers for the reply, I'm 13 stone plus gear so i guess I'd need to go for a 850 spring? although i know fuck all about the dark art of suspension, i just know that my shock is fubar and need to replace it cheapish.

Re: undertray + alloy subframe?
Glad to hear the lightweight subframe can keep the undertray as my mods need it. My bike is mostly used for track days but I sometimes ride to them.
I have fitted a removeable no plate and lights at the back with a race seat so when I get to the track its just 2 bolts and a quick connector. All can be reversed as it plugs into the existing loom, no cutting. Just need the ally subframe now!
