Rusty clamps/pipes NC30 Advice sought
Ok, what started out to be changing a sticky choke cable turned into finding a rusty mess
Where the clamps are holding the front down pipes it is all rotten.
My question is before I strip it down, what's involved and what parts are needed

Cheers guys (n gals)

Remove exhaust system, chop the rusty collars off and weld new stainless ones on. The repair will cost you around £50.

Alex, thanks, this looks like option 2, was a bit dissappointed as the rest is rot free

as for gaskets on the collars,
sillicon sealant does the job better than gaskets :)
and only cost a couple of quid from screwfix :)

Remove the rear exhaust section and fit a nice used half system.vfrderek wrote:My question is before I strip it down, what's involved and what parts are needed![]()

More power, looks better, won't corrode in future and might not cost much more than repairing your standard system. Most of them slip over the front headers (use liquid gasket), no clamps required.
