RVF being held for me till tomorrow, any good?(South Africa)
Only photo's I have from an auto trader(ZA) ad i found of it, think it hasn't sold as it's currently reduced but they never updated the price tag hanging on it in the dealership(MY WIN! HAHA)
All I know is, 30000km's(now I've moved back here from UK don't need MPH converters etc as we're in KM
) and Carbon Fibre yoshimura exhaust(dunno if full or not maybe somebody can identify) I'd know more but they were past closing when I came to check if they had any 400's but luckily the door was still open and zoomed in
(some idiot there told me it was sold over the phone, so I was lucky to see it still there!) I saw it and asked and it was still going
I've done months of research don't worry it's a good price for this area of South Africa, very good
It MIGHT be the T code model(96/97/98 rather then the R, 94/95), gonna check tomorrow, but by then may have bought it anyways, can't see why not so far

Yeah thats a RT model, looks ok. It has non standard panels or an aftermarket paintjob from what i can make out from those pics.
Exhaust just looks like a end can although id need a better pic to be 100% sure. You'd pick that up for under £2k here in the uk.

Can't get them under the equivalent of £3k in this province, and that wouldn't be standard paint job or a yoshimura on it, maybe even more milage too, bikes only sell cheaper in johannesburg im seeing, maybe the higher population, or they're all stolen(half SA's crime comes from gauteng province that johannesburg is in
)
I'm gonna sneak this out of an established dealer for 2.5 so I'm happy, long as nothing ends up being wrong with it because it'll be all my money almost to get this
not riding on it yet though if i get it, so plenty time to do some cleaning and work

In light of what you've said id make sure that bike is A1 mechanically before handing over the cash, im guessing parts are not easy to come by there and i bet clued up V4 mechanics are even harder to find. NC's are simple beasts but in the wrong hands will empty yours pockets quicker than a south african car jacker

Re: RVF being held for me till tomorrow, any good?(South Afr
Been held hostage - 1
Been held at gunpoint - +2 to the above
Been car jacked - 0
and in a year it'll be harder since I'm getting a handgun
I'm already doing firearm courses now to try get into armed response
If only my weapons handling in British Army was valid here to skip the courses and get the qualification
but back on topic, parts arn't actually hard, it's just that RVF's get snapped up, another place has 1 more expensive that they got friday I think but I bet that goes Monday...I had another one with 60000km on it being offered by a guy who imports directly(and even says he supplied that other dealer) so I think he'll be my go-to guy:P in between these dealers(500m apart) there's a honda too but I'm guessing honda charged alot for stuff and has to import it anyway so I'll stick my contact and maybe get honda to put the parts in, it should all work out in the end

Re: RVF being held for me till tomorrow, any good?(South Afr
I went ahead and bought it, it'll be here tomorrow lunch time
turns out it has that yoshimura carbon fibre exhust, tinted screen, braided front brake lines(both), they've put a brand new battery in for free, engine sounds great, brake pads look like they got 5/6mm left so thats great, bridgestone tyres with loads of tred left, and the jets might be aftermarket(don't know much about all that), bike was roadworthy'd for free(MOT, you do it to your name once, and thats it for all the time you own the bike here in SA
), it'd it'll be delivered free as well
