NC30 L/H Switchgear + Lights wiring nightmare

Ok I'll try and explain this as best as I can, but it's a but tricky and my pictures are just phone pics.

Ok so this is how my bike came to me:

L/H Switchgear (bit tatty anyway) has a single cable coming out which leads to an external switch that was cable-tied on to the top of the bars. To get my full beams on, I had to set the switchgear to full beams and then flick this little two-way switch. Obviously a bodge job. Here's a picture of what I'm talking about;

This is the old switchgear attached by that switch to the bike;

I've bought a new set of switchgear which is now on the bike, I've plugged the switchgear in to the two clips behind the left hand upper fairing, plugged in the horn and plugged in the clutch wires. So, it SHOULD work, but I can't get anything other than dipped. The wiring behind my headlights is a mess, here's a bad picture of the situation;

The wire coming from the top right corner, is the wire coming from the two way switch. imgur rotated the photo for some reason, it needs rotating clockwise 90 degrees.

I'll give more info if you request it, I'm absolutely shite with electrics so any help at all would be appreciated.

Edit: I mean I can't get anything other than parking/sidelights, can't get dipped or full beam.

I have a Haynes manual with wiring diagram, but I just can't follow it, it gives me a headache just looking at it.

I live in Nottingham mate but wouldn't want you to come out your way! Would love to fix it myself, would be easier if I could get the front fairings off but the fasteners are fucked. I just need a good look at another VFR rather than a wiring diagram haha

as an electrician i cant suggest any way of fathoming out other than to wip out the testers and consult the wiring diagram, it looks like rocket science but it really isnt,

where did or does the bodge switch go to?

if you fancy the ride over i live between cannock and wolverhampton about 40-60mins from notts,

i can do notts in 50mins in the VAN

dan looking at picture 3 it looks like the loom has been fecked with,

if you can ride over in the day ill get this sorted

I need to figure out where the wire goes to from the switch, but that requires some tape splitting. I'll do it in the morning and try and suss out what the hell is going on. With the new switchgear plugged in to the loom behind the l/h fairing I can control indicators and have the lights OFF or Sidelights. Fun fun fun.

Cheers dog, if I can't figure it out I'll take you up on it for sure.

I'll rip open the tape tomorrow and have a good look at it. I got home from an awful shift at work, had a half an hour stab it before dinner then left it, it'll look a lot easier with fresh eyes in the morning. She used to belong to a right cowboy, I've fixed more bodges than I care to list...
