Fuel flow
I am after some feedback from you guys,
I started my bike for the first time in months and she fired up straight away, however on inspection of the fuel filter it semms to be not filling, is this normal or should it fill, as I am worried that hard acceleration might leave me to fuel starvation. There is a clear flow through the filter when she runs but small stream at the bottom of the filter.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Fuel flow
Yes thats normal the filter wont be completely full with fuel, even if you apply a suction to the vacuum valve it wont fill completely.

Re: Fuel flow
This just has the faintest of streams running through it though, it's not even an eighth full. I vaguely remember the filter being pretty full last year or is it just me?

Re: Fuel flow
If the bike stutters at high rpm you'l know its running lean, its pretty obvious. You can also check your plugs after a hard ride, if they lightly coloured then its running lean

Hey Gringo,
this is true, I will have to wait until I get her back on the road in the next few weeks and do a shake down, good advice amego.

Re: Fuel flow
Might be worth checking the screen inside the tank as a matter of course?

Re: Fuel flow
I've noticed on my inline fuel filters that they go black around where the mesh is after a few months, best to change then. Yet somehow a sandy crud still collects in the carb bowls, unbelievable...

Can't imagine you would have the greatest fuel is South Africa though.
