Fuel Filler Cap Colours?

I'm trying to find out what each model of NC30s fuel filler cap colours were?

Some seem to be silver, some brown or magnessium, and some black, but what was the correct colour cap for each of the NC30 models and paint schemes?

So if anyone out there knows the original and correct cap colours or can tell me from their original bike, it would be great to know what your bikes original fuel filler cap colour is, on what model/variant it was fitted and with which of the paint schemes it belonged?

i think most are brown.

mine was brown and was a type 2 seed scheme 1989 F Reg Grey Bike Jap Import.

mine is now polished alloy fine

Well that's the type two paint scheme Fuel filler cap colour sorted.

I'm sure some of you out there can help me with the other 7 paint scheme Fuel filler cap colours?

All of the R3L bikes I've owned (3) have had the same brown coloured filler cap, and others I know.

A quick look at the jap parts manual will tell whether there was a different colour for any model, and also confirmation from UK model owners of their colour should get to the bottom of this.

Iv'e checked my part numbers and I've found 3 different part numbers:

Jap R3L, R3K and UK R3L, 17620-MR7-007
UK R3M 17620-MR7-017
Jap R3N 17620-MR7-027

So from your post I reckon that the 17620-MR7-007 is the brown cap.
So what colours are the other two?

If anyone has an original R3M or R3N please let us know?

To answer my own question type 1 is metallic brown according to porndoguk.

Jap R3L, R3K and UK R3L, 17620-MR7-007
UK R3M 17620-MR7-017
Jap R3N 17620-MR7-027

MR7 is the RC30 part number code.
007, 017 and 027 are fuel caps for J,K, L models, all gloss dark brown centre, lighter satin brown rim, so UK NC30 R3L the same.
All superceded by 17620-MR7-505.
