NC35 de-restrictor???

Post by skinnydog0_0 »

Hi All,

Just wondered what this item is? I thought that the 35 was restricted via washers in the carb rubbers?
Any thoughts on what this is?
it's on ebay, item no.

the washers are the 33bhp restriction kit for those on restricted licence..

i think the thing on ebay is the bit of kit that lifts the restriction on the rev range that is present on all 35's (i think it's on all 35's but may be wrong, definitly on some if not all)

It just removes the 180 km/h top speed limiter.

You can do the same with just one piece of wire on an nc35.

Aye, pretty much. You'll not have a speedo so will have to do the resistor mod to prevent the 5.5k revs limp home.

Or, you get an ignitech and you are jamming.. ;)

Cheers Bud, i thought that it wasn't a de-restrictor, but thought i ought to ask just tin case
I have a standard CDI and have done the orange wire splice to the battery; seems to work
I might think about the Ignitec CDI next season, but i am saving for an SP1 style exhaust first, and some engine work.

Forgive the stupid question but how did Honda restrict the NC35 to the 53 bhp that was introduced in 1993, is this quick/easy to remove to get the earlier pre 1993 60 bhp .
