tiny water residue in oil

Post by blackduck » Sun Feb 06, 2011 9:54 pm

hi guys, as the title says tiny and i mean small leak of water/coolant in the oil.....presume its the head gasket???? also is it a major deal to ride it for a few weeks till i get money together to get it fixed? also roughly how much will i be talking about?

one more question, would this be the reason it is backfiring now and again on startup or just cos i only out on it or tick it over every week or 2 when i am home? or is it just unburnt petrol in exhaust from flooding it on attempting start up?

cheers guys, much appreciated

How sure are you it is the head gasket?

What does your coolant look like? Where are you looking at the oil and water?

Replacing head gasket is a minor ballache, you just need some time and patience.
