Thanks for the welcome guys. We're going monthly from March, so plenty of room for tasty 400 specials/projects/restos. I've come within £10 of buying an 89 GSX-R400 recently, and an 89 FZR400RRSP Exup - got outbid on that by a tenner as well

Seeing Lyndon's NC made me want one again, badly. I used to own a mint black/silver 1991 NC30. Loved that bike; had it jetted, airbox mods and a pipe - 62bhp at the back wheel. Went like stink. Was gutted when the lad I sold it to vandalised it with a hideous Smokin' Joe's paint job, and then stuffed it into the back of a stationary BMW. I could have decked him when he told me. I had a CBR400R Aero before that, and have had an NSR250 MC18 since. Small bikes rock.

By the way Munky, couldn't agree more about that uber twat Katie Price. Waste of fucking skin - skanky chav tart.

This is Jim Moore, editor of Practical Sportsbikes. Just want to say a big thanks to all those of you who've bought the mag; without you guys we wouldn't exist.
I think i can safely say we all think it's one of the best mags out there and i recommend it to everyone i know who has an interest in bikes. Personally, I particularly like the workshop advice section and it has already saved me cash i would have otherwise spent in garage costs

Thanks, too, to Lyndon for letting us feature his NC - top bloke, top bike. Apologies for not including his thank you to this site - that was my fault, and I hold my head in shame. I'll put an amendment in the next issue.

If I could have described my ideal motorbike magazine for where I am right now it would be Practical Sportsbikes. My subscription will be going in tomorrow morning and all the back issues orderd as well.

Jim welcome along. i am sure you will get a barrage of requests and bike offers - there really are some special tricked bits of kit here and plenty of lovely standard examples too with some models i bet even some you didn't know existed or had long forgotten about.
I trust (and hope) that after the first few editions you are going to weed out the usual copy / paste and lazy journo mistakes that keep going round and round and round with each review, using sections from old reviews from years ago, quoting prices and parts that either no longer exist, or are not exactly true (m-max box to liberate full power from a TZR250 3XV if i recall )
Anyway i will add and am sure most will agree, it makes a nice change to see a mag not focusing on the latest newest plastic missile and focusing on bikes that most who can appreciate "good old fashioned fun biking"

Anyway enough of the 400's, you need to organise a nice big RC30 day, see how many you can get into one place together
