Grease Nipple Upgrade

Post by Delboy » Wed Jan 26, 2011 6:41 am

Is it worthwhile fitting grease nipples to the NC30 shock linkage?
Just an idea that occured to me whilst mine is in bits..... anyone else done it?

Grease nipples are a great idea on any suspension linkages. Ask yourself why you shouldn't, then get on with it.

If you're going to add grease nipples, you might like to do a complete job and remove the meta-elastic bushing, to replace it with an RVF pivot. Take a look at Rocker Arm Needle Race Mod.

In terms of the grease nipples, would you remove the dust seal and thread one side of each linkage pivot?

Was just thinking of fitting a nipple in the midddle of both bearings to be able to pump full of grease?

I'm about to take my rear linkage apart for a complete service. The cost of the new bearings concentrates the mind on ways of maintaining them. Is there an example of the type of grease nipple you are thinking of somewhere on the net?
