Thats right, the laws of physics regarding the wheel was over turned in 2005, radial is the new round
Only joking pal, its radial mounted brakes, most new bikes have them

Nothing to do with wheels and tyres mate. Radials are forks and callipers, they mount differently so you can use different size discs, rather than bolting the caliper on the side of the forks. Radials mount at either end of the caliper straight through to the forks. I think it improves braking and have less flex.porndoguk wrote:forgive my stupidity whats a radial?CMSMJ1 wrote:@ Ricky - it is a radial cbr600 front end innit?
It is going to be wicked. You riding this at Oulton, Tony?
i mean i have circular wheels but does that mean that im running on square tyres aposed to your radials?
im lost somewhere
That's my shit explanation !

Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
Looking at the drawing, the simple logic of the engineering stands out. Presumably, one can retrofit a "radial" brake caliper adapter to regular mounts? Doesn't look stiffer, tho, without additional engineering on bracket.
Which makes me wonder if the old brake design design couldn't be further improved through re-designing the caliper to center the mass around the front axle, with a "flying" pad design wrapped around a V-profile disc for lower rotating weight & better aerodynamics. But it wouldn't be very, er, "radial"...

Well happy with the condition of the pipework, cans will clean up and look ok swapped over to hide the damage. Im still amazed at how light these puppies are.

Only bike i have at the moment mark so yeah i'll be on this, track fairings of courseBit concerned about the noise regs tho, 102db
are they strict? i dont wanna have to drill those lovely TI endcaps.
I would say the TSR are quite a lot louder again!

Re: RVF Endurance AM-PM Replica build
Jason, i had a feeling there was 2 generations of this system, the cans on mine are also different without the rivet bands which i prefer and obviously a different badge. Your be pleased to know mine still has the fitment issues with indicators and tail section, ive been at it on and off for 2 days now adjusting the fit and finally the angle grinder came out todaymicpec wrote:Tony, very nice to see that you have this TSR system at lastDrunkn Munky wrote:....

I do see you have a slight different system...when looking at the sections welded on your Ti system it tells me this is from the earlier batch that TSR produced. The ones I have/had (and now Kris
) are smoothend from an later batch with a bit more tube bends instead of welding. Keep this gem and enjoy the sounds and looks!
(PS: pm sent back).

The race subframe isnt making like easier either, well its fine but not when your fitting a standard undertray and 1 piece seat unit that has to carefully strech over everything! Major headaches today but ive spent the last hour just staring at it and i think ive sussed it, bit late to get the angle grinder out tho
