carb rubbers for NC35 carbs to NC30 engine?
I'm having great difficulties installing the NC35 carbs on the NC30.
Currently using some new NC30 rubbers, would I need the NC35 rubbers?

No, you don't need them, but they are easier to use.
I have 35 carbs on my 30 (with 30 rubbers) but as I am stripping it for a bit of TLC I decided to buy some new rubbers..and got NC35 ones.

I must be doing wrong then, I can install the NC30 blind folded now, but it's a no go with the NC35 carbs.
my method:
pop in the front carbs
then the rear ones, using a flat screwdriver to lift the rubbers
Now this is all fine, but as soon as the rear ones are in, the front ones pop out!!!!

A little silicon grease around the insides of the rubbers might help? No mineral grease, it'll eat the rubber.gonzothegreat wrote:I must be doing wrong then, I can install the NC30 blind folded now, but it's a no go with the NC35 carbs.

ps. That's a general purpose tip, I haven't tried it in your application.

ok, the following might be a very silly idea (which I will try it anyway,,,,)
how about, I fit in the front carbs as usual and clamp them with the ring screw thing.

35 carbs should go in 30 rubbers easier than 30 carbs as there smaller.
I always sit the back 2 in the rubbers then crow bar the front in using the cross beam by the headstock.

Hmmm i always put the front in first, then with the rears sitting slightly proud, a small bladed screwdriver to tease them in position. but old rubbers make the job so much harder, new rubbers and its a doddle

Just persist with it. I have a set of nc35 carbs on new nc30 rubbers, they fit fine although they can be a bit fiddly.
Sit the front two carbs half way in the rubbers, and while pushing down on teh carbs with even pressure use a screwdriver to get the back to carbs to just fit into the rubbers. That's the hard bit done. Then climb on top of the bike and stand on them, making sure to spread the pressure evenly across all 4 carbs.
BTW, standing on them is a honda recommended technique:
