The fan is off an rvf and the 3rd pin is an earth
It's not having what you want but wanting what you've got....Loud ,Proud and Modified ....

Didn't realise they were different! Now I'm learned. But honestly, ditch the fan for the track

i think there is a ring terminal - earth on the end of that Steve, well was anyway

Naw, it will just wear out the fan faster.
