Been told to use these hoses if you want clear hoses that don't crack or fail over time.

Tygon 2075. They aren't too expensive in my opinion.

Hasn't Tygon 2075 been replaced with Tygon 2375?

Both are on special offer at US Plastic, if you don't mind buying ten feet:

If anyone would like to organise a group buy, I'd like two feet of either type, sent to Thailand. The 5/16” I.D x 7/16” O.D. x 1/16” tubing should fit in place of the HRC tube, and do for the master cylinder reservoir, too.

Tygon 2075. They aren't too expensive in my opinion.
Now, if you want to talk about mark-up, the above epitomizes it. You can get Tygon 2075 in that size many places for under $2.25/ft.
