I think it looks quite good, but wouldn't expect great quality.

I'm tempted to buy just for something different.

I would like to see MOTO 2 style myself but Im happy with the NEW RC211V style as it looks good with the T10 fairing

My thoughts on the 'K Coversion' kit is while it is more comprensive than previous kits they sold:

1. It is actually a copy of the CBR1000 fairing so if you want your bike to look like this ugly duckling then fine but TYGA Performance certianly won't be following this trend. Styling is a matter of taste but personally I think that Honda have gone off the rails recently with the VFR, CBR250 etc and the 1000 is pig ugly so why anyone would copy it is beyond me. Just my personal feeling.

Here are a couple of pics of how Honda did the CBR250 and how we would do it (photoshop using our Aprilia fairings)

I know I am biased heavily but what are Honda thinking?

2. The CBR1000RR kit was actually adapted to fit the NC30 by another Thai guy who gets mercilessly copied here everytime he brings out a new design which is why we don't sell our body kits in Thailand. Not sure if this particular kit has his blessing or not.

3. I've seen these headlight covers and boxes and they look very homemade. For all the critisism of our headlights, they are genune OE Stanley units made from proper materials. Our bulbs are now halogen so as bright or brighter than the originals. By the time you have hidden the original (heavy) lights in these (heavy) boxes the light has to pass through a refractive glass and then an optically poor hand made and polished perspex cover. Dust gets inside and it never looks new even when they are first installed.

4. The fit and finish looks typically crap. We'd never accept a fit such as in the photos where the upper and lower join or thickness of material round the upper blisters when viewed from the rear.

5. The fiber they use is nasty. Cheapest materials going. Our resin is 3 times the price and for a reason. It is much stronger and less prone to cracking. The local stuff you can squeeze the joints with two fingers and hear all sorts of dreadful cracking sounds ( yes we started the same way 10 years ago before we knew better and before these resins were available) This day and age there is no excuse because it only adds around 10 pounds to the cost of manufacture per panel. It will ruin your new paintwork if the panels start cracking after a few weeks. Of course all panels including plastic will crack eventually but it is essential to doeverything possible to prevent this and not go cheap on resins.

6. All the holes and edges look nasty and worn. Look at the front fender mounting hole or the number plate holder. It is obvious the mould was either not any good to start with or has been repaired or possibly this mould taken from a piece from someone else's part. We use steel inserts on the recessed holes in our moulds to give a proper definition and clear flat base to mount the bolts.

7. All this mention of limited edition. What a stupid thing to say. How is anyone going to know unless 100 bikes are all in the same place and we certainly wouldn't limit our run as it makes no business sense whatsoever. People are pissed off enough when we upgrade something and discontinue so why would you just limit it. I can't say for sure but this sounds very fishy and pure marketing to make people think they have something exclusive. On this score, we'd be lucky to sell 100 T10 fairings and we definitely won't sell 100 NC23 kits so in my mind 100 is already an optimistic target internationally. That said there are more than 100 of these CBR1000RR kits in Thailand already LOL made by anyone who has access to fibreglass skills.

8. Finally, you 400 owners are very difficult bunch to please LOL. I read the forum every day to check that members here are happy with their TYGA products. I can understand people saying I wish we did this or why don't we do do that. Individualism and personal taste is what it is all about so nobody wants to follow everyone else and in some ways we have become a victim of our success. That said, there are never going to be many of our kits in one place except maybe in Australia.

We now have a pretty wide range of products and for fairings you can choose, OEM NC30 or 35, RC211V, T10, Spark, Suzuka or even Suzuki RGV250 GP. That is 6 distinct styles on what is a pretty small market. Then for seat cowlings we now have RC45 style, Twin Seat and the RC211V and most fairings and seats can be mixed and matched. There is a big investment cost in making a good kit which fits and is comprehensive. We could make a new seat cowling which is skinnier and shorter than the one we stock now but we'd need some pretty clear indication of the demand and exactly what owners want to BUY (not what they like to SEE on other people's bike ;) It is all a balance between a wide range of kits, production volumes and sharing the development costs (unless you copy someone and skip the development part) between the production run. Add this to the very weak European currencies and the fact that it doesn't matter what this thread says, people tend to buy what 'appears' cheapest. The have to experience crap first hand before they realise it was a bad move and their budget is all used up. We have heard many stories of this happening and I know Gav has too. We really strive for happy customers and Gavin here is always helpful and keen to back up the TYGA brand name. However, quality costs and in the end you get what you pay for.

Don't learn from your mistakes, learn from others' mistakes!

I hope this acts as a warning so people can make an informed decision.

Nice to see you've gotten rid of the squashed nose :peace:

The Tyga kit looks the dogs danglies

NC24 kit please?
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

Yeah good rant Paul, now get busy and graft that rear end off that cbr250 and put it on a nc

I know you mention taste is idividual and you cater for the demand and supply but this afterburner rear end you do for nc's, now it's a fair point many people like it but it's no secret a lot of people don't, I just can't see why tyga haven't come up with something more like that cbr250 sear unit for the nc.

LOL First we get accused of an aircraft carrier rear end; now afterburner rear end... see what I mean? Hard to please... We were only following guidance from the people here who requested an RC211V kit but some of you objected so we made the RC45 style for 'purists' and the twin seat for the pussywhipped (or the ones that got lucky) among us and you are still not satisfied!

If we can keep the subframe and adapt one of our GP seat cowlings then maybe we could do something but not yet. I wonder how long it will be before someone requested a twin seat version of the GP seat though ;)

Aircraft carrier, afterburner same thing  Im not digging paul i think what you do there is great albeit not always to my taste. But as far as i can see the T10 nose came about through some people expressing a dislike for the original tyga headlights and like i previously said the T10 gets my thumbs up, I just think theres enough interest in something more like that GP seat unit for the masses that dont like the RCV rear end.

The RC45 tail is great by the way, i have one  And for whats its worth bin the pillion seats i cant see the point of one on a 400.......................... i know i know supply and demand :spank:

Now if you could produce a copy of the silhouette kit at at fair price (maybe change it very slightly for legal reasons) id be all over that.

DM thanks for the comments. Helpful stuff. Glad you like the T10. BTW what exactly do you mean by the Silhouette kit? Just the upper which looks similar to the RVF but for the NC30 and has headlight covers or soemthing else?

I don't like many of the current kits to be honest.

Making an NC30 into an RC211V is not right. If someone made a pukka twin swinger for the proper rep look than cool..

I do like the RC45 seat and will probably get one too....no need for pillion seats on a 400 IMO

@ Paul - the ability to come on here and have direct access to yourmarket is an undoubted boon for your company. It was not too long ago that there were "issues" between <company name removed> ;) and 400GB.

There is still some needle but it is at least a situation being managed..

If the K conversions people had access to this site (and if they do,come on, defend your product) then I suspect the overall level of quality kit would improve.

What would I buy?

A copy of my current nose would be superb...
