Re: My NC30 story
Yes thanks, I hope so.Looks like its going to shape up to a stunner!
It's a simple task.Oooh very well done. What did you use to do that. Its something that always bugs me on older bikes that are otherwise tidy.
Clean surface first, than use Q-Tips, the color you need, spray it onto piece of paper, dip the Q-Tip into it an dab it over the lettering and wipe it of with solvent immediately after it.
Did it with the choke lever as well.

Re: My NC30 story
Hi folks,
Finally I got my alloy sprocket, but not the Talon as it got lost somewhere in Scottland.....
Anyway, all of the sudden I remembered that I use an "Enuma" alloy sprocket on my Kawa Z1R for 3 years, so
why not order one for the Honda? They have a comprehensive catalog - made in Germany!
steel

alloy

I also fitted some more titanium screws
-front disks and callipers
-rear calliper
-front axle pinch bolts
steel disk screws

alloy disk screws

Great project.zebulon wrote:
still to measure
silencer, alloy meter stay, alloy upper stay, carbon air box,
not yet ordered :alloy clip-ons and handlebars, maybe more alloy parts I don't know about yet

Have you measured the weight savings for the "meter stay" (instrument bracket), and the "alloy upper stay" (front fairing stay)? In Thailand, where I live, alloy part work is relatively inexpensive so I'm keen to know the weight saving. The "cost saved per gram" / "weight saved per $" should be quite spectacular.

Re: My NC30 story
Hi tanto,
have measured (but not documented yet) the upper stay, I remember that the weight saving was not that much
The meter stay is not ready yet, remember I have the "big" headlights and the stay has to be modified as it was designed to work with the small ones.

Re: My NC30 story
Just a quick update.
Had some more titanium nuts and bolts for the rear sprocket and disk comming in.

Almost done. Still have to wait for the modified alloy meter stay.

I like that, slightly different take on the colour scheme but it looks good. Of course all those shinny TI nuts and bolts stand it out from the crowd

I would never use some alloy screws for the front disks.
