STUPID BLOODY F****ING THING!!!!!!

Post by Trinirides » Tue Dec 21, 2010 2:09 pm

Man I feel at the moment if I had a pet fish it would drown!!!!!! .....

Ok where to start?? well I started up the NC as I do every few days whilst the weather is cold and have found over the last few weeks the idle was a tiny bit jumpy something that normally means new plugs, and since I have not done a plug change on it for around 16 months it was due....

So this morning I started the bike and just went up the road for breakfast and all was fine I came back took the fairings off as I have many many times and within an hour all plugs where changed and everything was ready for the re-start soooo... "Choke on" hit the starter and bang it starts but the revs stay low and do not rise?? mmmm strange.. I pull the front brake and the revs rise, ok thats weird and then I turn the lights on and the revs rise even higher!!! for f*** sack a bloody electrical problem from a routine plug change yippy  ........

Joys of motoring mate. Take a chill pill and have a look at it when you've calmed down a bit and it might be something simple and obvious.
How hard can it be?

:plus: walk away, a small break and your go back and sort it easy. Retrace your steps and think logical.

LOL.. Im normally very calm when things like this crop up but my god did this piss me off.. Walking away was exactly what I did overwise I think the bike would have meet a full fuel can and a match, looks like my next free time will be taken up with going over connectors for hours trying to find a fault that should never have appeared  ...

Did you try to re-create the condition? Does the brake and lights make the revs rise each time you start the bike? I am a firm believer that when problems pop up, they have something to do with whatever I messed with last, but I can't see how changing plugs would do this.

I agree with you 100%, recreate the conditions before the poo hit the fan and you may get the solution but in this case I really didnt do anything apart from lift the tank a few inch to get the rear plugs out and take two bolts out to move the rad forward for the front plugs...

No electrical connectors where touched at anytime and its a job I have done twice on this machine and about 4 times for friends just one of those weird things that crop up when you really don't want it

The electrics on the bike have never given me any issue's, never had so much as a fuse blow on it, I will just go through all the connectors and will hopefully find a bad connection....

You know, I think "check the ground connections" is going to be my standard answer for everything from now on. It seems to be the issue very often!

Glad you found/fixed it!
