SF Headlamp
Gonna convert my version R to a standard SF headlamp and loose the cowling fairing. Are they just the regular 7 inch size like on a hornet 600 etc?

No! But why? The Version R looks ace!
Can I have first dibs on your fairing and headlight (and bracket) if you're not going to keep them please?!

In fact, didn't you say you were going to sell the Version R? If so, PM me with a price and I'll see how my finances are doing that week!

Re: SF Headlamp
7 inch is easy, thanks for the info.
Not selling her for a while yet, maybe after christmas. I like the raw look really, cowling fairings not really my thing. Yup i'll be keeping the fairing for when i sell her, can't really lose that, it's part of what the bike is.

Re: SF Headlamp
hope u dont mind me using same thread but its related topic m8, just realised my sf headlight doesnt have a sidelight.. not even a holder for one.. its the original back part so i guess someones replaced the light unit ...my question is this.. can anyone from memory remeber what colour the wires that go to their front sidelight is please ( to save me some hassle with a multimeter lol) cant seem to see many spare wires around but it must be there somewheres as the rear sidelights work :D

Re: SF Headlamp
What do you mean by "rear sidelights"? Do the rear indicators come on (not flashing) when the engine is running? If so, I think I'm right in saying that you have an ex-school bike (Japanese) and originally all four indicator lights were supposed to come on in addition to the main lights; there's no sidelight in the main headlight itself. This "feature" is normally disabled for UK use; I've no idea whethere they're deemed legal or illegal though!
If you mean something else by "rear sidelights" then you'll need to explain a bit more!

Ah, OK. Your switchgear differs from mine, as I don't have switchable sidelights or main lights; my main light comes on with the ignition, and I can only select full or dipped beam from the switch (same as Ben by the sounds of it).i meant when u switch on sidelights on the switchgear (first click).. the rear light works... but not front.. then when i switch the switch across one more to main lights.. the front light comes on then alex.

Out of curiosity, which bike do you have? Mines a 1995 F3S (Version R).
Does your full / dipped beam switch work OK?
