caliper rebuilds. who does it ??

I've just bought all the stuff to refurbish my calipers, but have had to buy new, well second hand, calipers due to the pistons being seized and rotting in mine.
Check prices between david silver and wemoto, some bits are cheaper on the others site. I found wemoto were cheaper for the seals and washers but david silver for the rest (i.e. rubber seals and pins ect...)
Don't forget the red grease for the seals! Wemoto sell small pots for 99p.
Also try http://www.lm-spares.co.uk as they have good pricing on lots of bits.
I found my pad retaining pin cap bolts were very hard to remove so be prepared for a long job if you do overhaul them yourself.

to be honest the price difference between retailers on most items is pretty small. some bits are cheaper on one site with others cheaper on another. but then 2 lots of P&P negates the saving of shopping around too much

Well I was completely overhauling the lot so I got:

pin bolt and bush pin (2 of each, 1 for each caliper)
bolt rubber bushes x4
Pistons x4
Piston dust seals x4
Piston seals x4
Copper washers
Screw caps for the brake pad bolts x4
Red rubber grease
Brake grease
caliper mouting bolts x2
hex caliper mounting bolts x2
Brake pads and brake fluid

I dont think I have missed anything out, I got the piston seals in a kit from wemoto and the copper washers. The rest I got from David Silver. Had to wait for some bits tho as they had to be ordered in. I had to get more than usual as my calipers were rotten. you might not need to replace the pistons if they are ok nor the mounting bolts.

There is someone on ebay that looks like they do a pretty good job & they can paint the calipers as well.
