Cleaning Radiators NC30

I'm looking for a bit of help/advice. Both radiators on my 1989 NC30 are pretty caked in (probably 21 years) of crap
I was was wondering what was the best way to go about cleaning them without damaging the fins?

jet wash, dishwasher, job done!

mine are going in the dishwasher as we speak.

i'd lay off the jet washer as the power from it might be too much and it'll bend fins, oh and don't put it in your ma's brand new dish washer either !!

soak over night in degreaser and wash with a garden hose, repeat until clean.

Well, I don't have a dishwasher (I'm the the dishwasher!!) So a good soak in degreaser it is.

I take something like 'Gunk' is a good one to use.

l old bank/credit card cut into a strip makes a good tool for cleaning crud between fins once rads have been soaking a few days tedious job but well worth doing.

soaked in soapy water for a few days and blasted from behind with a garden hose did mine just fine :)

my jet washer is either shit or i didnt do it too close, as i only have normal one. but the fins are only slightly bent from before,

as for the dishwasher, i gave all the parts a soaking in the sink and scrubbed them with an ikea brush

there now in the bosch on intensive wash,

i clean all sorts of bike parts,

giving as my wife is far from the most of easy to please, she doesnt mind me using , freezer, oven or sink/dishwasher for bike bits she aint to bad

mine had lots of little bits of grit in the fins i used a big needle down every hole and some gunk, worked very well. held up to the light you can see straight through it,also good for bending the bent fins back into place.
