Re: Ultra Sonic Carb Cleaning
Should do if you strip them down, ive been looking into these and trying to weigh up if there worth the outlay. Think im gunna get a soda blaster instead as with regards to bike parts it'll be more usefull.

Re: Ultra Sonic Carb Cleaning
I have access to one of these at work
As DM says - they'll fit if you strip them down and pop them in, in pieces - Ideal for getting a real good finish!

When you mean strip, is that splitting them into single carbs ?Smev wrote:I have access to one of these at work![]()

Yes as you say easy. Stripped carbs into pairs and cleaned them with some cleaner for removal of oxides carbs now well cleaned. Have nearly three sets of carbs to get cleaned will be busy for a while.Drunkn Munky wrote:Yeah, its not rocket science, once you've done it once your be fine

Any pics? I'm interested in these but some things I've seen ultrasonically cleaned look no different!

Re: Ultra Sonic Carb Cleaning
My advice is that you should strip down the carbs so that they are individual and then strip the carbs themselves, the problem other wise is that water will collect in the float bowls and ports which is hard to clear, dry them as quickly as possible due to the alloy components furring up if left. Once back together tape up the ports and spray with laquer as it leaves them looking like brand new
I worked with these bits of kit every day, white finger is a syndrome that can be caught if exposed to the vibrating basket with your hands, always wear suitable gloves and switch it off if you need to fish out bits.
Curt.

Re: Ultra Sonic Carb Cleaning
Sorry no before and after pics. But the cleaner was quite dirty after I finished. The carbs are a lot cleaner than they went in. I have a spare set of carbs all cleaned if any body interested.ibby4585 wrote:Any pics? I'm interested in these but some things I've seen ultrasonically cleaned look no different!
