Standard 91 red and black NC30 fork and caliper colours?
My NC30 seems to have a mis match of parts.
Its Red and Black, on a H plate.
Currently it has hand painted matt black fork bottoms, and gold calipers that don't really work. (They are are either off or pulling your face off despite stripping and cleaning several times). So I have a new complete set up with braided hoses but they are black.
Which colour is correct? I think the forks should be gloss back? But the calipers I'm not sure. I searched Google for original literature but no luck.
Bike as it stands at the moment.

Thanks,
Stu

My one looks exactly the same, should be correct.
Far out, you're worried about brake caliper colors? Who cares! You have a beast of a machine, go enjoy every moment.

I think they are supposed to be a grey colour.
I have done my fork bottoms and calipers Ford Mercury metallic grey.

Yes, gold calipers only came on '89 models. They were also the only models that came with silver forks.davethetrucker wrote:not 100% sure but were the gold calipers only fitted to early rk 89 models black thereafter
All other model nc30's had black calipers and dark ('crazy brown metallic') forks.
These are the model pics form the parts manuals:

Brilliant, thanks chaps.
I only need to respray the forks then, good times. The new calipers stay as they are.
Cheers,
Stu

Gold calipers also featured on the RN ('92) model. From memory, the fork colour is "Max brown metallic", but I may be wrong about that. In any case, the colour is shown in the description of the fork bottoms in the NC30 Parts Catalogue.Cammo wrote:Yes, gold calipers only came on '89 models. Btw, there are much better pics in the sales brochures: http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BS ... dspage.htm.
