Has anyone seen this paint scheme before?

Post by solder »

Hi all,

Just joined and introduced myself in the new members section.

Hopefully I shall be the owner of this NC35 by the weekend

I was wondering if anybody knew anything about the paint scheme.

The bike is RVF400RR 1994. I don't know if it was wearing these colours when it was imported. Do they come from a race teams colours? The Hydrogomma logo seems to relate to an Italian hose manufacturer :?

It's just an aftermarket paintjob, if your paying good money for it I'd check to see if they are original Honda panels. Cheap fiberglass bodykits don't fit all that well.

Odd to have that colour scheme on a RVF. I thought it was a only Suzuki race rep?

Yes thats what I thought, Alstara Suzuki etc. Just wasn't sure if they ever sponsored Honda.

Anyway I believe that they are the original panels although I'm not taken with the current paint job. The panel under the rear sear has a sticker with the paint code NH196 and NH196K on it.

I also found a complete original tool kit tucked away in there

Hi all,

So having had this bike for a few months now and spending the winter fiddling with things as I'm prone to do, I have was thinking that I might to get rid of this paint job and return to original.

Anybody had a set done lately in the UK that would recommend the painter??
